Owner & Instructor
Born and raised in Bryan/College Station, I am a Licensed Physical Therapist, of 30 years, who is passionate about creating “aquatic problem solvers.” I equip infants, children and adults with the skills for self rescue and water safety. In December of 2021, I graduated from the Infant Safety Rescue (ISR) program, the original survival swim school that is now 60 years old and scientifically tested and backed and deeply committed to providing the safest and most effective survival swimming lessons through one-on-one customized instruction.
I was inspired to make a career addition from physical therapy and aquatic certification in Physical Therapy to include survival swim instruction—and pursue ISR training—when I became a grandmother, or “Yaya” to those who know me best. As I searched for swim lessons for my grandson, I realized the offerings were sparse or too basic. I’ve always been passionate about children’s water safety and dedicated to preventing tragedies that can be avoided. My husband’s 15-year career in child pool safety fencing exposed us to heartbreaking toddler accidents, and through swim instruction, I hope to help combat this ongoing issue.
“Not one more child drowns!”
I stand out nationally for my unique approach to swim instruction, combining my expertise as a developmental and movement specialist, rescue diver, dive master, and physical therapist to create personalized, transformative lessons. As the only ISR-certified instructor in the Brazos Valley, I’m proud to offer a level of excellence and innovation unmatched in the region.
With over 60 years of research and development, the ISR method uses an integrated approach founded on physical therapy principles, developmental training, and sensory recognition. Because of my background, I found the ISR curriculum to be the most robust and safest method for teaching children how to problem-solve in the water, save themselves if ever in need, and feel comfortable at the pool, beach, lake, and beyond.
A lifelong water enthusiast, I’m also a certified rescue diver and divemaster, and I’m currently pursuing my lifeguard and WSI Red Cross certifications. My husband and I raised our children Morgun, Madison, and Garrett on the water—participating in water sports, boating, and diving as a family. Through swim instruction, I hope to educate and empower families to make safe, lasting memories in the water with their own children and grandchildren, just as we have.
I know that every child’s experience with water is different. Through the ISR method, my goal is to help each of my students become the best “aquatic problem solvers” they can be. Give them the gift of time and register now!
